The work of healing is the work of relating.

Relational astrology is about connection, conversation, and care.

Reconnection to each other, to the Earth, to the Sky, and all creatures in between, visible and invisible, is cultural and relational repair.

Living astrologically offers ways to recover and re-enliven our magical, spiritual, and ancestral practices.

The living cycles of the Earth and Sky connect us more deeply to the present moment, to our personal and collective histories, and to the possibility of more just worlds.

History

I’ve been studying stars and stories, cycles and secrets, since I was a child.

Growing up under the big skies of the Canadian prairies, a family friend first read my natal chart around age 12.

To be told I wasn’t imagining things when I linked my amateur astronomy with my mythology books was life altering.

Rural Canada in the 90s is not the place for cutting edge astrology, but I found some Dane Rudhyar, Linda Goodman, and Aleister Crowley in used bookstores.

Not long after, I found Astrodienst and Skyscript online, and started reading for my friends.

I began to see my first professional astrologer, Julia Wawrzyniak-Beyer, in Toronto, ON in 2012 to fill in the gaps in my self-education.

My professional consultation practice began in late 2015, and I have been blessed to work since with hundreds of humans ages 18 to 78 in person across the continent.

Primarily an in-person astrologer and teacher until 2019, I have transitioned to an entirely online practice, grateful to reach even more people around the world.

Approach

eventbritecoverimage.jpg

I take a queer intersectional approach to so-called “western” astrology, using both modern and traditional astrological techniques especially Hellenistic, with a psychological foundation.

I practice magic, cultivate embodiment, revere my ancestors, pray to the planets, believe conversation is sacred, and read tarot and a lot of books.

I hold a focus in my practice on healing, power, trauma, and relationships.

You don’t have to be queer to receive a reading, but your reading will still be queer.

I don’t believe astrology or ancestral healing to be ends in themselves, or only for the sake of our own wellness.

Our reconnection toward relationship, to the earth, to the sky, to the ancestors, to the spirits, and to each other, to support real systemic changes toward justice and repair, to the celebration of cultural differences against all supremacy is The Point.

I live in gratitude to the ancestors, my ancestors of body and vocation, as well as of the winds I breathe and lands on which I tread.

I am the beloved descendant of teachers, farmers, bakers, weavers, musicians, gardeners, housekeepers, herbalists, Catholics, animists, the many unnamed and unknown who walk alongside me.

I was born on the flatlands of Manitoba, through Saskatchewan, Minnesota, Prince Edward Island, and across the Atlantic to the Hebrides of Scotland, southwestern and central Ireland, and many rivers of southeastern and northwestern Slovenia, southwestern Germany, and northeastern Romania.

My own ancestor reverence practice began during my Saturn return in 2013. A pilgrimage to the UK and Europe in summer 2019 solidified my connection to the spirits of the dead, both my own and others, and I have since maintained a personal mediumship practice.

My Biggest Influences

While I’ve been fortunate to study with some brilliant minds and read many good books, I owe the best of my practice to my clients.

I am also and always immensely grateful to my best friends and family, including Diana Rose Harper (who wrote my bio!), Gray Crawford, Ari Felix, Drew Levanti, Gabriel Rosas, Stacia Secreriat, Ursula Rising, and Rain Mason, each a fellow astrologer who has bettered my craft and my life through their wisdom, integrity, and care.

Business & Media Training

Being an independent practitioner and small business is hard but from the outside (when it’s working) it can look effortless.

In aiming for transparency and to support other solo professionals seeking support, I’m sharing the business training I’ve done that have brought my practice to where it is today:

  • Sarah Chappell’s Holistic Business Academy since August 2020, on business boundaries and mindset, communications, and launch/offering development.

  • Monica Cadena’s Digital Allyship Intensive in January 2021, on responsible social media content and community management.

  • Captolia Eaton’s Digital Witch University since September 2021, on archetypal brand marketing and launch strategy.

  • Patty Ryan Lee’s The Fiery Well since October 2021, on tech systems and website development.

  • Diana Rose Harper’s 2020 beta run of Work Your Angles: Astro-Aesthetics Mini-Consult on authentic content creation.

  • Kelly Surtees’ 2018 Dinner and Drinks on Professional Development with the Association for Young Astrologers, on pricing and booking systems.

  • Endless conversation, commiseration, and peer support with colleagues and other independently practising friends, from the multiple industries I’ve worked within.
